More Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists Surrender as Troops Intensify Onslaught in Borno

The Nigerian Military says that more members of Boko Haram and ISWAP Terrorists have surrendered to the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at Banki Town in Bama Local Government Area of Borno. This was as it inched closer to the final defeat of insurgency in the North East region. The Military Operations Media Coordinator, DHQ, Maj. Gen. John Enenche disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja. By Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Armed Forces of Nigeria says, it troops of the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has destroyed Armed Bandits logistics warehouse near Birnin Kogo in Zamfara State killing four.  The military disclosed this in a statement through the Coordinator Defence Media Operations DHQ, Maj. Gen. John Enenche in Abuja, said. the air strikes were executed yesterday, 30 May 2020, sequel to Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports, which were later confirmed by series of aerial surveillance missions, indicating that the large structure was being used by the bandits to store their ammunition, raw rations and other logistics items. Police arrest 11 suspects over rape of 12-year-old in Jigawa

By Doris Nnaji    The Police Command in Jigawa has arrested 11 suspects for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl (name withheld). The Spokesman of the command, SP Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed the arrest to the Newsmen on Sunday in Dutse. Jinjiri said the suspects (names withheld) were arrested on May 30, in Dutse Local Government Area of the state. He explained that the suspects were apprehended after the police received a complaint that one of the suspects, aged 57 of Ma’ai village was seen at Limawa market in Dutse LGA, trying to lure the victim. “A case of rape is being investigated at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Dutse, sequel to a report received by the Police that a 57-year-old man of Ma’ai village, Dutse LGA was seen at Limawa market trying to lure a 12-year-old girl of the same address, to seclusion to have sexual intercourse with her,” he said. In a statement on Sunday, Bala Elkana, Lagos police public relations officer, said Monday Gabriel, the inspector, went berserk and shot sporadically leading to the death of Felix Okago, a sergeant. He said Gabriel was transferred from Abuja to a federal government facility in Ikoyi, Lagos, on a special duty. The police spokesman said the incident which happened around 4:30am left several other persons wounded. He said the inspector was arrested while trying to escape through the third mainland bridge. Military Rescues 241 Kidnap Victims, destroy Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists in Borno - DHQ

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  The Armed Forces of Nigeria says it Troops of Army Super Camp 11 Gambouru under Sector 1 of Operation Lafiya Dole, have rescued  241 kidnapped victims, neutralized several Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in Madu town in Borno state.  In a statement signed by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, DHQ,  Maj. Gen. John Enenche in Abuja, the Armed Forces said while on clearance operation on 24 May 2020 at Mudu Town in Borno State, neutralised 12 Boko Haram Terrorists ( BHTs), while  241 persons in captivity of the terrorists comprising 105 Women and 136 Children where rescued.  The DMOs disclosed that Items recovered include: 4 BHT flags, 1 motorcycle, 2 bicycles, 1 amplifier and 2 sewing machines.  He also disclosed that the rescued persons have been safely evacuated from the village and are currently under medical observation, while the village has been cleared. The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, made this known on Wednesday during a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja. This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, DHQ, Major General John Enenche in Abuja. The Armed Forces said The operation was executed based on credible Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports indicating that a thatched structure within the Forest was being used by the bandits to store their logistics items. By Doris Nnaji   The Zamfara chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday, expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the Federal Government in the fight against banditry and other crimes in the state. This was contained in a statement signed by the party’s State Secretary, Hashimu Modomowa. The party dissociated itself with the recent remarks by the state Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperative, Abubakar Abdullahi, in which he accused the federal government of paying more attention to COVID-19 than banditry. By Peter Omale A 22 year old security man identified as Sunday Ezra has been reportedly beaten to death by yet to be identified persons at New Trafford Hotel and Suites located in the Gwallameji area of Bauchi metropolis. Our correspondent learnt that the incident happened in the early hours of Monday when people around the vicinity descended on  Ezra and beat him until he became unconscious. A source confided in this medium that an inexpensive mobile phone got missing within the premises of the hotel and the deceased was accused of the  person who stole it but he vehemently pleaded his innocence to no avail. FG warns public officers against unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information

This was disclosed on Monday in a statement signed by Olawunmi Ogunmosunle, Director of Information, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. According to the statement, “the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, HOS, Dr. Folasade Yemi –Esan has noted with displeasure the recent unfortunate disclosure of unauthorized official documents in the social media. Report says  that the operators of Specific Night Lounge and Mas Chiles Lounge, Lugbe had continued to operate and telling customers that they had bribed the enforcement team. The Chairman of the task team, Ikharo Attah, confirmed the development to journalists on Sunday.
