IGP Decorates Two DIGs, 14 AIGs, 22 CPs With New Ranks

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu has decorated the newly promoted Senior Police Officers with their new ranks amidst cheers from their families, friends, and professional colleagues.  this was disclosed in a statement signed on Thursday by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olamuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja He said the exercise was sequel to the recent promotion approved by the Police Service Commission on the basis of merit, requisite experience, years of dedicated service and academic records. Handover: Navy refutes allegation of non-compliance by outgoing CNS

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Naval Headquarters, Abuja has debunked malicious publications alleging the refusal of the outgoing Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Admiral AZ Gambo to handover to the incoming Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral EI Ogalla. Director of Naval Information, Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, in a statement on Wednesday, who dismissed the allegation as a total lie, stressed that handing and taking over in the Nigerian Navy was procedural. Commodore Ayo-Vaughan therefore said that it was necessary to put the record straight, as he advised members of the public to discountenance the malicious publication. The committee was to look at the 2023 Budget approved by the 9th Benue Assembly, and realign it with the vision of his administration. The governor who received the report at the Old Banquet Hall, Government House Makurdi, on Tuesday, said he had no doubt about the capacity of the committee members when they were chosen for the job, saying their tall profiles gave him confidence that they were going to deliver on the assignment, within a short time. THE DSS OPERATES WITHIN ITS MANDATE

The papers, which used their platforms to express varied views about the modus operandi of the Service include Vanguard, Daily Trust, The Sun, Tribune and Punch. While Vanguard’s piece on 2nd June 2023 was Dousing the DSS/EFCC Feud, Daily Trust, on 6th June 2023, published an editorial titled The DSS Must Conduct Its Duties as a Secret Service. The Sun, on 7th June, published The Needless DSS/EFCC Fracas while Tribune on 8th June 2023 wrote on The EFCC/DSS Confrontation. Similarly, on 14th June 2023, Punch featured DSS, Others Need Radical Reforms. By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  Military says it's Troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI  conducted ambush operation to bandits hideout at KAIRU/KYARAM villages in BUKKUYUM Local Government Area of Zamfara State.  In a statement signed by the Director Defence Media Operations, DHQ, Maj  Gen. Musa Danmadami in Abuja said, during the operation, troops made contact with terrorists and following a fire fight, three (3) terrorists were neutralized. Troops also recovered two (2) AK 47 rifles, one (1) pump action gun, three (3) motorcycles and other sundry items. The military high command commended troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI and encouraged the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on terrorist and all criminal activities within their area.

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  The Armed Forces if Nigeria has disclosed that troops of Operation FOREST SANITY in conjunction with the Defence Headquarters Special Forces have Neutralized six terrorists in MAIDARO village in GIWA Local Government Area of KADUNA State  This was contained in a statement signed by the Director, Defence Media Operations, DHQ, Maj. Gen. Musa Danmadami in Abuja. He said  troops neutralized six (6) terrorists and recovered five (5) AK 47 rifles, One Hundred and Ninety Two (192) rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm Special ammunitions, Seventy Four (74) rounds of 7.62 x 54mm Special. Nine (9) AK 47 rifle magazines, three (3) IEDs, three (3) Baofeng radios, One (1) PKM, three (3) motorcycles amongst other sundry items. The military high command commended troops of Operation FOREST SANITY and encouraged the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on terrorist and all criminal activities within their area.

Hyacinth Alia, has directed that all recent appointments into the State Civil Service made by the outgone administration from May 2022 to date are hereby nullified with immediate effect. The Governor also directed that all those who have retired but are yet to vacate their offices or duty post either because of extension or contract appointment are to proceed on retirement forthwith. By Aviashima Toom The military says it troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI has neutralized 4 terrorists during an ambush operation at their hideout at KUMBO village in BUKKUYUM Local Government Area of Zamfara State. This was contained in a statement signed by the Director, Defence Media Operations, DHQ, Musa Danmadami in Abuja. The DMO said, during the encounter, troops made contact with bandits and a fierce fire fight ensued during which Troops neutralized (4) four terrorists and recovered four (4) AK 47 rifles, two (2) AK 47 rifle magazines, twenty six (26) rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunitions, and four (4) motorcycles amongst other sundry items. The meeting, which kicked off around 5pm, is said to have been at the instance of the Federal Government and expected to be discussing fallouts from the removal of fuel subsidy.
