IGP Charges Officers on Professional, People-Orientes Policy in Kwara State

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has urged officers and men of the police force to engaged in key activities aimed at strengthening the relationship between the police force and the local community, as well as reinforcing the importance of professionalism and people-friendly policing. In a statement signed on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP ACP Olamuyiwa Adejobi in abuja said, the visit included a courtesy call on the revered Emir of Kwara at his palace.  He said during this meeting, the IGP and the Emir discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on collaborative efforts to enhance the safety and security of the people in Kwara State. From Jossy Gideon, Abuja The Military says, its troops during operational activities has neutralized 99 Terrorists, arrested 198 of them while 139 of kidnapped hostages were alao rescued. He said, the troops also destroyed a large number of terrorist infrastructure and  continue to degrade their military capability.  Director, Defence Media Operations, DHQ,Major General Edward Buba disclosed this on Thursday during its bio-weekly media briefing held in Abuja According to him, Troops conducted operations to curb the violent activities in the NorthEast, NorthWest and NorthCentral zones, as well as the sundry crimes in the SoithWest zone.   He said, in the SouthEast Zone, troops conducted offensive actions against the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN) as well as other miscreants engaged in diverse violent activities. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, in his efforts to reduce cost of governance and surplus monetary allocation on contracts and other government procurements, has established a Due process office under the Governor’s office. This is to ensure effective and efficient monitoring of all public contracts and concerns including all related duties for the benefit of Benue people. Governor Alia on Tuesday approved the appointment of Mr. Daniel Gbabo as his Principal Private Assistant on Due Process. Imo, Kogi Guber Election: IGP Orders Tight Security, Warns Against Unruly Acts

By Aviashim Toom, Abuja In a bid to have smooth electioneering processes in the forthcoming off cycle Gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States scheduled for 11th November, 2023, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,  has ordered the distribution of additional 220 operational vehicles, including water canons, Armored Personnel Carriers, helmets, bullet proof vests, tear gas canisters etc, to the 3 affected states to intensify security arrangements for the elections.  In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP had organise trainings for the police officers who are involved in the election security management for the forthcoming elections and sought the approval of the Federal Government for the payment of their allowances and other necessary support to boost the morale of the officers during the operations.  According to the statement, the IGP therefore urged all
