IGP Lauds NPF Contingents In International Peacekeeping Mission

........Reassures Excellent Service Delivery From Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has lauded the recent commendations for personnel of the Nigeria Police Force in international peacekeeping efforts.  This was contained in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP, Olamuyiwa Adejobi in abuja disclosed that, the United Nations, through its Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), recognized 140 officers and men of the Nigeria Police Contingent for their professionalism and outstanding performance in fostering peace and stability in Northern Mali.  He also said, the African Union presented Awards of Excellence and Professionalism to the Nigeria Formed Police Unit, comprising 160 officers and men deployed in Somalia, acknowledging their gallantry, professionalism, and dedication in countering Al-Shabaab terrorist elements. From Aviashima Toom, Abuja The recent launch of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has further bolstered the security architecture of the FCT leading to the arrest of 139 suspects, recovery of 3 GPR Chargers, 2 AK-47 rifles, 1 Type-06, 4 locally fabricated guns, 1 Berretta pistol, 2 Makarov pistols, 4 locally fabricated pump action guns, 504 pieces of AK-47 ammunition, 100 pieces of AA ammunition, as well as the rescue of 154 kidnapped victims unhurt. From Aviashima Toom, Abuja Following the recent launch of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the police has arrested Bwari-Based Kidnappers, apprehended sixteen (16) notorious criminals and recovered significant arsenal of arms and ammunition including a general purpose machine gun (GPMG). A statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer on Saturday, ACP, Olamuyiwa Adejobi in abuja noted that the stride was achieved through a fortifying the security landscape in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and through collaborative efforts with the Department of Force Intelligence - Intelligence Response Team (DFI-IRT), the FCT Command Anti-Violent Crimes Section, Anti-kidnapping Section and other State Commands.
