DHQ Confirms Killing of 5 Soldiers, 6 Civilians by IPOB Terrorist in Aba

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Defence Headquaters have confirmed the killings of 5 Soldiers of Troops of OP UDO KA deployed at Obikabia Junction Checkpoint in Obingwa Local Government Areas adjourning Aba metropolis in Abia State. The Military also confirmed dead of six civilians during cross fire. In a statement signed on Friday by the Director Defence Media Operations, DMO,  Major General Edward Buba in abuja said troops deployed to enforce peace in  the area and protect the citizens were massed attacked by the IPOD/ESN terrorist.  According to him, the terrorist in 3 tinted Prado Toyota SUVs and others from builtup areas surrounding the checkpoint, sprang a surprise attack on the checkpoint.  "The attack sadly took the lifes of  5 personnel of the armed forces killed in action "The armed forces mourns the death of these troops as each and every soldier lost in battle is a terrible loss. Meanwhile, investigation are ongoing concerning the attack". He said.

Hyacinth Alia, has disclosed that the state government will soon launch its own local security outfit that will consist of ten thousand youths before the end of May, 2024, to complement the efforts of the other security agencies in tackling security challenges bedeviling the state.
