The event commemorated the UN International Youth Day and signifies the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to the enhancement of national security through youth inclusivity and engagement. From Aviashima Toom, Abuja  SAHEL ReportersNews: The Nigerian Army has condole with family with a 16 year old protester, Ismail Mohammed who was unfortunately hits by a warning shot of troops of the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state  A statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu in Abuja disclosed that, the deceased has already been buried according to islamic rites with senior military officers of the Nigerian Army in attendance. He explained that on the 6th of August 2024, troops of the Nigerian Army received a distress call that some hoodlums gathered in Samaru in large numbers, burning tires on the road and pelting stones on security personnel. The troops immediately mobilised and arrived at the scene to disperse the mob and enforce the curfew imposed by the State Government. From Aviashima Toom, Abuja  SAHEL ReportersNews: The Nigeria Police Force has issued a stern warning against the display of foreign flags during protests and the calling for a military takeover, categorizing such actions as treasonable felonies under Nigerian law.  This follows a wave of violent protests, particularly in Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna, and Katsina States, where protesters brandished foreign flags. Protest: Police Arrests 681 For Various Crime Offences

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja  SAHEL ReportersNews : The Nigerian Police Force has disclosed tIn an effort to combat the trend of crimes and criminality, have arrested a total of six hundred and eighty-one (681) individuals who committed various criminal offenses such as armed robbery, arson, mischief, and destructions of both public and private property during protest.
