ESLF COMMENCES 3RD PHASE OF MEGA MEDICAL
OUTREACHES IN BENUE STATE

The Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) in a
bid to bring quality healthcare closer to the people, embarked on the third phase of her Mega Medical Outreaches in Benue State, this time with a ward to ward approach.

As conceived by the Founder, ESLF, Dr. Mrs Eunice Ortom and her team, it was observed that the rural populace experience various hardships in accessing quality healthcare services.

Dr. Ortom announced this during her flag-off outings of the second season of the Mega Medical Outreaches from November to December 2017. Even though
the outreach yielded a result of over ten thousand
beneficiaries with screening and treatment for the locally prevalent diseases of Malaria & Hepatitis B; Diabetes; Urinalysis; Rapid Diagnostic Test;
Syphilis (VDRL); Random Blood Sugar/Fasting
blood sugar and HIV (linkage to treatment);
Surgeries included eye, Hydrocelectomy,
Herniorophy, Excisions of Biopsies, lymphoma and
Incisions; there was still more left to be desired.

The third phase of the mega medical outreaches
are currently ongoing in three LGAs simultaneously
for the first batch in Ado, Kwande and Tarka. It
commenced on the 12th of March and will last till
the 22nd for Tarka & Ado, and 29th March 2018 for
Kwande.

So far for kwande LGA, Tondov I, Tondov II and
Mbaketsa wards have benefitted with 1590 general consultations and 65 surgeries. Still to benefit are: Kumakwagh, Mbadura, Yaav and Moon, Mbaikyor
and Liev I, Liev II and Menev, Usar and Mbayor,
Mbakyan & Adikpo Township Wards.

For Tarka LGA, Tongov , Shitile, Mbachaver and
Ikyondo wards have benefitted with 1232 general consultations and 42 surgeries. Still to benefit are: Mbakyar, Mbanyagber, Mbaikyo-Yia, Mbaigba,
Kpeamile, Mbakwakem Wards.

For Ado LGA: Apa/Agila, Akpoge-Ogbilolo, Ulayi
and Ejigba have benefitted so far with 608 general
consultations and 29 surgeries. Still to benefit are: Igumale 1, Igumale 2, Ogege, Ekile, Utonkon and
Royongo wards.

The focal objective of this outreach is to reach the
276 council wards in Benue State in line with the
SDGs 3. More so, the Foundation will through this exercise, contribute in strengthening the Primary
Health Care infrastructure by supporting to renovate and equip the centers for more sustainable quality health care service delivery.
