Admawa Gov, Fintiri looses mother

The Adamawa government has announced the passing of governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s mother, Fatimah Umaru at the age of 68.

The state government announced her death in a statement by Press Secretary to Governor, Humwashi Hunohashi on Wednesday.

Hunohashi said that the governor’s mother died while undergoing treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola.

“Her death at this critical moment creates a huge vacuum not only for the immediate family but the entire state,” Hunohashi said

He described the deceased as a strong pillar in her community, a disciplinarian, and devout Muslim.

“The governor has taken the death in his stride and has asked for prayers by all for God to grant the departed peace and the fortitude by the family to bear the great loss,” he said.

Gov. Alia Celebrates Predecessor at 63

Hyacinth Alia, congratulated his predecessor and the immediate past governor of the State, Chief Samuel Ortom, on the Occasion of his 63rd birthday.  This was contain in a statement signed on Tuesday by Chief Press Secretary, CPS to Benue State Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula in makurdi. Governor Alia says, celebrating 63 years in good health is a privilege, calling on Chief Ortom to savour the moment, and also take deep retrospection as an elder statesman.
