Insecurity: COAS Tasks Commanders on full Implementation of Presidential Directives

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has directed all Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), General Officers Commanding (GOC) and Field Commanders to redouble their efforts in ensuring effective and speedy implementation of Presidential directive in ending the insecurity in the country.
This medium had recently reported that, President Muhammadu Buhari during his meeting with Service Chiefs and the National Security Adviser last week bordering on the persistence risen cases of insecurity challenges in the country, expressed his desire towards ending the insecurity challenges in the country.
During the COAS’ meeting with the Principal Staff Officers and all the field Commanders, Monday in Abuja, called on them to redouble their efforts to effectively, efficiently and most speedily mitigate the security situation in the country.
Briefing Newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa said, the Army chief reiterated that the meeting was basically moment to changing the war narrative, time for action, and a wake up call in the efforts to combat Boko Haram terrorism and insurgency, banditry as well as the myriad of other security ills across the country.

According to him Gen Buratai also gave a matching order to the PSOs, GOCs and FCs for full implementation of Presidential order on ending all the terrorists activities, banditry and other associated security challenges across the country in no distant time.

“We have already commenced major reorganisation of our operations.

The Charge given to us by the Commander in Chief to redouble our efforts must fully be implemented.


“We must end this madness going on in some parts of the country.

“The criminals and their collaborators and sponsors must be exposed, flushed out and destroyed”. COAS stressed

He said the COAS further charged all Commanders to always be in the field to making sure all the operational activities are effectively and efficiently monitored and carried out as he also warned against complacency,failure and excuses.

"There is no time for complacency, no time for excuses and there will be no tolerance". He said
