Military Airstrike Kill Scores of Terrorists, Destroy Their Hideouts in Borno

The Armed Forces of Nigeria says its troops of Air Task Force of operation Wutar Tabki, a subsidiary of Operation Lafiya Dole has eliminated several criminal elements, destroyed many of their hideout in two different locations in Borno state.

 on different operations conducted on 21st and 22nd October, 2020.

In a statement signed on sunday by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, DHQ, Maj. Gen. John Enenche in Abuja said, the airstrikes were conducted on the heels of Human Intelligence reports as well as series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions indicating the regrouping of the criminal elements at the affected locations in Borno.

Gen. Enenche quoted the locations affected by this operation to include , Ngwuri Gana along the Gulumba Gana-Kumshe axis as well as at Jumacheri near Damasak all in Northern part of Borno State.

According to him, the operation by troops was achieved through separate air interdiction missions carried out on 21 and 22 October 2020 on the heels of Human Intelligence reports as well as series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions indicating that several terrorists had assembled at the 2 locations in preparation to launch attacks against nearby troops’ positions.

“The hits by Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships dispatched by the Air Task Force to attack the 2 target areas resulted in the destruction of some structures as well as the neutralization of dozens of terrorists" he disclosed
