Gov. Ortom Beckons on More Investors to Benue



.....accepts company apologies for not following government procedure for land acquisition

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on more private investors within and outside the country to come to the state to explore the investment opportunities available in the Food Basket State of the nation.

Ortom who made the call today while on a working visit to Pure Biotech Company, a private organisation into Ethanol production noted the importance of industries to the economic development of the state and Nigeria could not be overemphasised.

He explained that many youths would be provided with jobs through industries, stressing that such would in turn reduce insecurity occasioned by restiveness and also create wealth along the value chain.

The Governor who accepted the apologies of the company which did not follow laid down government procedures to acquire and develop the land, however urged the management of Pure Biotech to immediately erect a signpost to educate the people about their activities.

The Governor also charged the host community to provide security for the facility, even as he directed security agencies to provide surveillance and patrols to encourage more investors to the State.

Earlier, representative of the company, Mr. Stephen Numbeve, explained that Pure Biotech Company Limited is into Ethanol production with 500 and 300 metric tonnes of fresh and dried cassava respectively daily as raw materials and would take 2,500 persons off the street through employment.

He apologised on behalf of the company for not following due procedures for the acquisition of land and siting of the company, saying they would retrace their steps and fulfil necessary conditions as law abiding citizens.

Mr. Numbeve said the company acquired 25.4 hectares of land for the development of facilities at the company, adding that construction Work on the site commenced in January 2021.

Residents of FCT Pass Vote of Confidence on Wike

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja Coalition of FCT Indigenous Groups and FCT Resident Associations has passed a vote of confidence on the  FCT Minister, Bar. Nyesom Wike. The group also  urged him to continue his good works in the nation’s capital, saying the original inhabitants and the entire people of FCT were solidly behind him. The convener of the group, Adeyeye Olugbenga, made the call during a peaceful rally at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Abuja, on Thursday.  The group called on President Bola Tinubu to ignore calls to remove Wike as the FCT Minister. The group said ” Some people have alleged that the FCT under Barr Wike has become the epicentre of controversy. Hybrid Solar Panel Factory Soon To Take Off in Makurdi

From Aviashima Toom The Benue State Government has entered into partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital, to facilitate academic and clinical interchange between Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, in the areas of joint studies, training activities, and other educational exchanges of mutual interest. The government has also entered into partnership with Sinoki System Limited, for the establishment of a Hybrid Solar Panel Factory in Benue State. Signing the two Memorandums of understandings (MOUs) at the Old Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House, Makurdi on Monday, Governor Hyacinth Alia said he was excited and optimistic that the partnerships will open many more doors of investments in the State, adding that his administration is willing to welcome more investors into the state.
