Ortom, Ubwa, Hails Ex Benue Inter'l, Launches Galaxy Footballer Academy in Benue

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has commended Galaxy Football China for its effort in growing youth football in Benue State.

Ortom showered this encomium on Thursday when the management of the organization launched Benue branch of its Football Academy in Makurdi.
Governor Ortom, represented by the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Ojotu Ojema, thanked the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the gghb.organization, Austine Akpehe for the initiative aimed at identifying, grooming talented youth footballers who could be future players of the Nigeria National teams and make waves in world football in the near future.
He encouraged players of the academy to be disciplined, focused and committed to their responsibilities in order to make it at the end of their training, promising his total support for youth football and general sports development in Benue State.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Football Academy China and former Nigerian football international, Austine Akpehe thanked Governor Ortom and other invited guests for coming despite their tight schedules. He said the primary reason for the establishment of the academy was to give back to Benue part of what the state had done for him during his football career. 

Promising that the academy would identify raw talents from the state and nurture them to stardom.

Also speaking, the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Titus Uba, ably represented by the Chairman, Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon Sylvester Atachin, said the state assembly is youth friendly and would continue to support and give an accelerated hearing to any law geared towards supporting youth football in the state, adding that there was no better time to establish such important academy than now, considering the growing level of youth restiveness, especially in Sankera and other parts of the state.

Earlier in his welcoming address, the chairman of the occasion and Chief Executive Officer of Pleasure Travels, Dr Paul Ubwa thanked Mr Akpehe for establishing such a laudable project which could be of great benefit to Benue youths, urging Benue people to support the academy.

He urged other Benue born  international football stars to emulate him, saying it will go along way in engaging the youths

Upcoming music artists were also on ground to thrill the guests to make the epoch making event a memorable one.

Residents of FCT Pass Vote of Confidence on Wike

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja Coalition of FCT Indigenous Groups and FCT Resident Associations has passed a vote of confidence on the  FCT Minister, Bar. Nyesom Wike. The group also  urged him to continue his good works in the nation’s capital, saying the original inhabitants and the entire people of FCT were solidly behind him. The convener of the group, Adeyeye Olugbenga, made the call during a peaceful rally at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Abuja, on Thursday.  The group called on President Bola Tinubu to ignore calls to remove Wike as the FCT Minister. The group said ” Some people have alleged that the FCT under Barr Wike has become the epicentre of controversy. They further questioned his land reforms and claimed that he was involved in land grabbing and dispossessing people of their properties. Hybrid Solar Panel Factory Soon To Take Off in Makurdi

From Aviashima Toom The Benue State Government has entered into partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital, to facilitate academic and clinical interchange between Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, in the areas of joint studies, training activities, and other educational exchanges of mutual interest. The government has also entered into partnership with Sinoki System Limited, for the establishment of a Hybrid Solar Panel Factory in Benue State. Signing the two Memorandums of understandings (MOUs) at the Old Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House, Makurdi on Monday, Governor Hyacinth Alia said he was excited and optimistic that the partnerships will open many more doors of investments in the State, adding that his administration is willing to welcome more investors into the state.
