Commissioner for youths and sport, Pst. Comrade Ojotu Ojama has praised the commitment and the professionalism of the late team manager of Lobi Stars, Barnabas Imenger who died on Monday in Abuja.

Ojama stressed that it would be difficult to find a capable replacement for the Team manager, who died after a protracted illness.

Nigerian football was thrown into mourning when the report of the death of the veteran Team manager surfaced.

“The news of his death was shocking and it hit all of us with a state of disbelief because it was the least we expected of him to die at this period,” Ojama told Sahel Reporters.

“truly speaking we are going to miss him. He was a workaholic and very spiritual man. He was the reason Lobi stars are doing well in the league.

"everything in the world of sport today is at stand still" i can tell you the team manager, has made significant impact in the world of sport.

"Having played for BCC Lion FC, El- kanemi warriors, he a became Super Eagles player and later team manager of Lobi Stars, everyone who is a sport lover today be it Lobi star, Benue and the world over will know that a great vacuum has been created, the one that is so so difficult to fill"

"The truth is we can not question what God has permitted, what ever God allows is perfect. For him to have fixture in the  international, National football and decided to come back to the state, i think its something what commendable.

As a team manager of Lobi Stars, he made significant impact and i must say that he is leaving when his service is most needed and you will agree with me that recently the Vice Chairman, of Lobi was relieve of his appointment and a new Vice Chairman is appointed and such a time you need to tap into the experience of such an old professional like him unfortunately he is not there to render such service. But we believe strongly that God will surly bring someone who can feet in that position to continue from where he has stopped.

"So I can say clearly that an average Benue person who is in the world of sport is in a mourning mood. I pray God to accept his soul" the commissioner said.

He continued that "humanly speaking when you lost such a versatile and experience person it will very difficult to get a replacement immediately"

"I want to say that the team performance can not be attributed to human factor alone, Gos factor is also there so He does His things His way. The team performance will remain intact" he opinions

Sahel Reporters reports that, Barnabas Imenger died at the national hospital in Abuja on Monday morning after a protracted illness.

The TM had been in and out of the hospital for a while. He was on life support and used oxygen to breath at the Federal Medical Centre in Makurdi.

He was referred to the Abuja national hospital. But he died in the hospital.

Quite unfortunate that Benue state and the country has lost a rare gem. a great loss to Nigerian football.

He was part of the Super Eagles team that played at the 1995 FIFA Confederations Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Imenger was appointed team manager of the Ortom Boys in 2013.
