UniMkar VC solicits support of items from MUTUK to boost quality teaching, learning

The Vice Chancellor, University of Mkar in Gboko Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue, Prof. Zacharys Gundu, has appealed to the Mutual Union of Tiv in United Kingdom (MUTUK) to assist the university with books, journals and computers to enhance teaching as well as learning.

Gundu made the appeal when the President of MUTUK, Dr Kohol Iornem paid a visit to the institution.

The VC further pointed out that if MUTUk assisted the institution with the items it would go a long way it would add value to the quality of teaching and learning.

He also requested that MUTUK should connect the institution with donors that would assist the institution with scholarship grants to students.

He disclosed that the institution had a plethora of challenges that were hampering quality teaching and learning, stating that he was optimistic that the university would surely overcome those challenges in a record time.

He gave Iornem the Ambassador of the University to people living in the United Kingdom (UK) I, adding that he would be given the opportunity to impact his knowledge to  the students of the university as a Visiting Lecturer of the institution.

Earlier, Iornem stated his resolve to woo other charity organisations in the UK to assist the university in its quest to grow and make a mark in the educational sector.

He further stated that the entire MUTUK were passionate about the university, stressing that he would get details of the needs of the institution and furnish his organisation to see how they could give it a helping hand.

Iornem also noted that as an ambassador of the university, he was duty-bound to reach out to individuals and organisations in the UK to come to its aid.

He further explained that MUTUK raised funds and purchased a dialysis machine for the institution, disclosing that it would soon be shipped to Nigeria and he would a delegation to make a formal presentation during Easter.

Iornem further applauded the institution for acquiring a water treatment machine to ensure adequate, safe and clean water was 
made available to the school.
