Benue 2023: Mrs.Orbunde Canvases Support for Husband

By Our Reporter

Mrs Kashimana Orbunde, has appealed to Benue people to support the gubernatorial aspiration of her husband because he had something to offer if given the mandate to govern the State in 2023.

She made the appeal on Friday when she received the executive committee of Ipusu PDP Women.
Her husband, Arc. Terwase Orbunde, is a leading gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue.

She stated that Governors Moses Adasu, George Akume, Gabriel Suswam, and Samuel Ortom, as well as Senator Anyim Pius Anyim discovered some of her husband's talents and utilized them in various ways.
She further appealed that the people of the State should give him an opportunity to express himself fully as State's Chief Executive.

"I and my husband met during the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Program in Ogun State in 1986, got married in 1990, and had been blessed with children and grandchildren.

"I have a solid home and an immovable stake in Benue with nowhere else to go, that's why I am recommending the best for the state", she said.
She commended Governor Samuel Ortom and his wife, Dr Eunice Ortom, for putting their lives on the line in the service of Benue people and for committing the state into the hands of God where there is everlasting protection and safety.

Meanwhile, the former Chief of Staff to the Governor, Orbunde, stated that he married his wife in his youth when he had nothing, stressing that it would be criminal and unforgivable to abandon her at this stage of his life when God had blessed him through her backing.

Orbunde solicited support and prayers that Governor Ortom should hand over to him in 2023 because he was conversant with issues of statecraft and had the capacity to handle them.

Earlier, Leader of the Ipusu PDP Women in Makurdi, Mrs Comfort Ake, stated that they had resolved to support Orbunde because he was Godfearing, compassionate, humble, knowledgeable and competent to tackle Benue challenges.

Other women who spoke including Rose Ashiekaa and Christiana Agule stated that the former Chief of Staff to the Governor could be trusted to uplift the state because he had served in several positions without blemish and had been a responsive and sensible leader.
