APC Convention: Yari Returns Nomination Form, Rules out Zoning

As the National convention of the  of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, draws near, former governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari, ruled out the zoning formula for the chairmanship position.

Yari, noted that he is not aware that there is a specific zoning within the geopolitical zones of either the president or the national chairman of the party.

Yari despite zoning the chairmanship position of the party to the north central, defies the party’s instruction and purchased the chairmanship form.

Sen. Tijjani Kaura ofwhile addressing journalists after returning the expression of interest form said, they are aware that the party has zoned national Chairmanship to the North and presidency to the South but they are not aware that there is a specific zoning within the geopolitical zones of either the president or the national chairman of the party.

“Nobody indicated whether it is South west, South East or South South. The party acting Chairman has not come out officially to tell us the chairmanship has been zoned to a particular geopolitical zone. So, that is why we are here.

Speaking on what Yari is bringing to the table to change the narrative of the party come March 26 as the chairman, he said “Abdulaziz Yari has been a down to earth politician, he was a party secretary in Zamfara state 2 decades ago, from there he rose to the party chairman in the state before he became a member of the House of Representatives.

“Thereafter, he became the executive governor of the state for eight(8) years before becoming the chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum. That is enough experience to lead this great party. That has afforded him the opportunity to contact the 36 state governors of the federation to sell his chairmanship.

“I can assure you that today, Abdulaziz Yari has sold himself and he has been purchased by all the members of the party across the 36 states of the federation. And I can assure you that on the 26th of March, when we get to Eagles Square you will see what I mean.

On whether he’s working with Yerima and Kabiru Marafa, he responded: “Yerima, the former governor of the Zamfara state is a senior member of the party also Kabir Marafa, Mamood Ali are all old members of the party just like we are here and we are all working together,” he said.

Residents of FCT Pass Vote of Confidence on Wike

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja Coalition of FCT Indigenous Groups and FCT Resident Associations has passed a vote of confidence on the  FCT Minister, Bar. Nyesom Wike. The group also  urged him to continue his good works in the nation’s capital, saying the original inhabitants and the entire people of FCT were solidly behind him. The convener of the group, Adeyeye Olugbenga, made the call during a peaceful rally at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Abuja, on Thursday.  The group called on President Bola Tinubu to ignore calls to remove Wike as the FCT Minister. The group said ” Some people have alleged that the FCT under Barr Wike has become the epicentre of controversy. Hybrid Solar Panel Factory Soon To Take Off in Makurdi

From Aviashima Toom The Benue State Government has entered into partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital, to facilitate academic and clinical interchange between Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, in the areas of joint studies, training activities, and other educational exchanges of mutual interest. The government has also entered into partnership with Sinoki System Limited, for the establishment of a Hybrid Solar Panel Factory in Benue State. Signing the two Memorandums of understandings (MOUs) at the Old Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House, Makurdi on Monday, Governor Hyacinth Alia said he was excited and optimistic that the partnerships will open many more doors of investments in the State, adding that his administration is willing to welcome more investors into the state.
