APC National Convention: Yari, Adamu, Picks Chair'ship Nomination Forms

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja
As the All Progressives Congress (APC), National Convention draws near, campaign groups have continue to stormed the party Secretariat in a bid to obtain expression of interest forms.

To these end, former Governors of Zamfara state, Abdul'Aziz Yari and that of Nasarawa state Sen. Abdulahi Adamu has on Wednesday picked their nominations forms respectfully to contest for the national chairmanship position of the party.

The Director General of Abdulahi Adamu campaign organisation, Hon. Lawrence Unuchukwu who led the Campaign Organization, told newsmen shortly after he picked the form that his principal poses the capacity and capability to pilot the affairs of the APC.

He said: “If you have been following the antecedents of Abdullahi Adamu, you will know and agree with me that he is the man who has the capacity and the capability to pilot the affairs of this great party.

” You will also agree with me if you are a member of this party that he was the chairman of Nine man Committee who went round the country to reconcile the party members that makes us see some of the governors who joined us today.

“That alone for me and for us is a wonderful reason for us to say he should come and pilot the affairs of this great party as the chairman of this great party.

Unuchukwu while answering questions on the rumours of Adamu being the anointed candidate of president Muhammadu Buhari said; “if that rumour is something to go by for me is a boast to us, that is to show you Mr president is a man of integrity, I’m sure he will not want to associate himself with somebody who does not have capacity to pilot the affairs of this party.”

“You are also aware that this party whether we like it or not we must not pretend of some challenges and we need a man, we need an administrator, we need a politician, we need a man who has the capacity to take us to the next level of this party.

” We as the campaign team, Senator Abdullahi Adamu is most qualified to take this party to the next level. Every body has done his best especially the governor of Yobe state, because he has put his best through him; we have seen so many governors decamping to our great party which shows that he is a good man. so we wish him well but in life you will start from somewhere and end somewhere for another person to start from there.

“I can assure you with Abdullahi Adamu who has seen it all as a former minister, as a party man, as a two term governor and a three term governor. What else do you need from this man than to come and give service to this great party so that we would take this party to the next level".

Simirlay, delegations from Zamfara state headed by Sen. Tijjani Kaura also stormed the party Secretariat, to purchase nomination form for the former governor of the state, Sen Abdulaziz Yari amidst zoning the party's position to North Central.

Sen. Tijjani stated that, they have purchased the form for Sen Abdulaziz Yari to contest for the position of the party's national chairmanship.

He said as far as they are concerned their are contending issues concerning zoning. "First of all, we are fully aware that the national championship has been zoned to the north and the presidency has been zoned to the South. As you are aware that all positions of the party that were hitherto in the south will go to the north. Zamfara being in the north is well qualify.

"We are very ready for the convention come march 26th, Yari being one of the founding fathers of this great party and has contributed immensely and greatly to the betterment and welfare of this party, he is ready to lead the party and will not allow it to die.

"What the party needs now is a unifier. This was a party which was formed by the coming together of many parties. If care is not taken, the party will be so divided but Yari as a founding father will ensure that the party does not disintegrate". Sen. Tijjani stated.
