I have capacity to wrestle power from PDP -- Gemade

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue, Sen. Barnabas Gemade, said he has the capacity to wrestle power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. 

Gemade disclosed this on Sunday while interacting with members of the State Working Committee of the party in Makurdi. 

Gemade who was the first National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emphasized the need for the APC to nominate a credible candidate like him to enable the party win all her elections come 2023. 

"I have the capacity to win the governorship election for the party if he I am made the party's candidate. 

"I had many opportunities in the past to become governor of Benue but I rather preferred to support my younger ones.

"However, the time has come for me to become governor and ensure the development of the state," Gemade said. 

He further tasked the party leadership to ensure a level playing field in the primaries leading to the general elections, insisting that transparency and accountability in the process would aid those who would loose out to unite and support the party's candidates.

Responding, the APC Chairman, Comrade Austin Agada, said that the new executive would strictly follow the constitution of the party in carrying out her responsibilities.

Agada further assured Gemade that the party was prepared to wrestle power from the PDP in the state. 

The state Deputy Chairman, Dr. Steven Tsav, state Vice Chairman Zone A, Mr Vincent Uji, Zone B chairman, Mr James Tor, and his counterpart in  Zone C, Bishop Pinot Ogbaji, the State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Daniel Morgan Ihomun, State Woman leader, Awuese Torhee,  Financial Secretary, Mr Hangeior Akaan, State Auditor, Youth Leader Comr. Cephas Sado, State Treasurer, Mr Muhammad Hassan and other members of the State Executive Committee were Present at the meeting.
