Gov. Ortom tasks Benue people on research for society's overall good

Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue has advised people of the state to commit themselves into rigorous research and document them into books that would serve even generations yet unborn.
Ortom gave the advice during a public presentation and launching of a book titled "Fiscal Federalism and the Provision of Public Goods and Services by the Tiers of Government in Nigeria written by Barr Justin Gbagir on Friday in Makurdi.
The governor who was repsented by the Commissioner for Justice, Barr Michael Gusa, said that through research a lot of things would be made bare and brought to limelight for the overall good of the society.
He commended Gbagir for painstakingly putting together the all important book.
He said that the book would be of great use today, tomorrow and in years to come.
Mother of the Day, Dr Eunice Ortom, said that Gbagir would be remembered for generations because of the book, adding that he had done a rewarding thing.
The Chairman and Chairlady of the occasion, SP Tersoo Ugbe and Dr Veronica Daaor, said that Gbagir was passionate about governance, stressing that they were not surprised as he had decided to document his passion for good governance in a book for the benefit of generations.
The author appreciated all those that were present as well as those that were represented for identifying with him on his 48th birthday and the launching of the book.
He prayed God to reward them abundantly.
Earlier, the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Dr Felix Bua, described Gbagir as a courageous, determined, hardworking, focused and dependable young man with a lot of foresight and vision capable of turning the world around not just Benue.
