NAF Organises Medical Outreach for Benue Community

Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Makurdi on Tuesday organised a medical outreach for Akile community in benue state to commemorate the 58th anniversary of NAF.

The Guest of Honour, Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC), Air Vice Marshal, Abraham Adole, said the outreach was part of the activities for the commemoration of NAF Day 2022.
Represented by the Commander 131 Engineering, Air Commodore Olanrewaju Oyename, Adole stressed that the importance of the good health in achieving success in our day-to-day activities cannot be overemphasized as there was no community without health challenges.

"In recognition of this fact, NAF has not only contributed to improve its healthcare facility to cater for the well being of her personnel but has also regularly extends the same gesture to host communities.
"The medical outreach today is not only timely but vital as it affords Akile community the opportunity of having their health challenges attended to by the medical team from our hospital," Adole said. 

He further urged the host community to continue to lend her support to NAF in its efforts to nip insurgencies and banditry in the bud by providing timely information of suspicious activities within their environment.

He also encouraged them to shun vices that would be detrimental to the well being of their people and NAF Base community in Makurdi.

Meanwhile, the Commandant 161 NAF Hospital, Makurdi, Group Capt. Samuel Oguntuase, said the outreach was aimed at improving civil-military relationship.

"It is usually said that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation.

"The outreach will provide the host community the opportunity to be examined by NAF professionals.

"They will be screened of malaria, sugar, dental as well as eye checks and glasses will be distributed.

"Some health challenges that might require further treatment, arrangement will be made for such people to be treated at NAF hospital, Makurdi," Oguntuase said.

The Makurdi Local Government Chairman, Mr Anthony Dyege who was represented by Mr Emmanuel Ingyough, commended NAF for taking healthcare delivery to their door steps.

The District Head of Mbawa, Chief Peter Amaka who was represented by the Kindred Head, Chief James Aba, appreciated NAF and sued for the sustenance of the exercise for the overall good of his people.
