The Nigerian Air Force School of Air  Intelligence (NAFSAINT), Nigerian Air Force Base, Makurdi on Friday graduated 48 personnel.

The Commandant of the school, Air Commodore Emmanuel Ukpong, disclosed this during the combined graduation ceremony of the Basic Intelligence Analysis Course 2/2022 and the Basic Intelligence Supervisor Course 6/2022 held in Makurdi.

The commandant disclosed that 48 Air Force personnel were enrolled in the two courses and all of them were found worthy in character and learning, emphasizing that all of them had graduated.

Ukpong explained that the basic intelligence analysis course is aimed at producing intelligence operatives equipped with the requisite security training that would enhance proficiency in intelligence analysis, evaluation, integration and interpretation to meet the Commander's intelligence requirement.

He further stated that the basic intelligence supervisory course was aimed at producing intelligence operatives capable of taking higher responsibilities as unit intelligence supervisors, stressing that they were well grounded in intelligence management.

He stated that the trainings were to equip the students with the capacity for newer techniques in safeguarding NAF interest in line with emerging trends in intelligence statecraft.

"Our drive has always been to consistently pursue purposeful training and human capacity development towards adding value to personnel in support of NAF operations.

"This is in line with the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshall Isiaka Amao, which is to enhance and sustain critical airpower capabilities required for joint force employment in pursuit on national security imperatives," Ukpong said.

Meanwhile, the Guest of Honour who doubled as Chief of Staff, TAC, Air Commodore Michael Ekwueme, said that the various courses would enable the graduands to know that the role of NAF and its concept of operations was predicated on the provision of timely, adequate and accurate intelligence on the adversary's intentions and capabilities, emphasizing that it enabled the operation staff to prepare for timely and adequate response to any threat.

"Hence, this places a lot of responsibility on the graduating students whose primary responsibility is to safeguard NAF documents, gather, collate and accurately analyze intelligence reports in support of NAF operations," Ekwueme said.

Ekwueme said that the graduands were expected to operate professionally after their graduation to reflect the level of experience, knowledge and skills that they acquired.

Also, the Deputy Commandant, Group Captain A.O Akins,
appreciated the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao for his support, leadership role,  commitment and confidence he had in them to train the personnel, assuring that the graduands would meet his expected demand and requirement.
