Nigeria Army Special Forces Organizes Exercise Endurance Peace II To Train Officers to Tackle Criminality

The Commander, Special Forces (SF) 4 Command, Maj. Gen. Oluyinka Soyele, said the command has organised Exercise Endurance Peace II to train officers and men on how to checkmate various criminalities especially as the yuletide season approached.
Soyele stated this during the flag off ceremony for the Exercise Endurance Peace II on Tuesday at Tyodugh, Makurdi Local Government Area, Benue.

"The exercise is based on real time intelligence on prevailing security  threats and dovetailed into real operations to checkmate various criminalities as the yuletide season approaches.

" The exercise will be conducted jointly by the troops of 401 SF Brigade and personnel from various paramilitary agencies drawn from various commands within the state.

"This will go a long way in promoting inter-agency cooperation between officers and men of Nigerian Army and other security agencies who have shown keen interest to participate in the exercise," Soyele said. 

He said that it was expected strengthen civil-military relations between the military and the people of the state through civil military cooperation activities such as medical outreach programmes as well as educational and relief support among others. 

He further disclosed that the exercise was also conducted by formations and units of the Nigerian Army simultaneously in Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa states and the Federal Capital  Territory (FCT)eal time intelligence. 
 
Meanwhile, the Commander, 401 SF Brigade, Brig. Gen. Samaila Uba, disclosed that the exercise was aimed at addressing  various security challenges facing the state and by extension the entire nation.

Uba said that it would also enhance synergy and sharpen the skills of participants on the rudiments of operations particularly at the joint tactical level.

"The exercise will also serve as an avenue for officers and men of 401 SF Brigade to interact with their colleagues from sister security agencies and to exchange ideas towards enhancement of joint operations.

"It is hinged upon the desire of the commander for SF command to continuously improve the capabilities of the troops to meet emerging security," Uba said.

He pointed out that it was in line with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) vision of a professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment on defence of Nigeria.

Also, Gov. Samuel Ortom, said that the strength of any nation was in the ability of its military to protect its territorial integrity and support internal security.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Lt Col. Paul Hemba, Ortom said that to achieve the significant role, the Nigeria security forces must strive to conduct joint training to promote inter-agency cooperation, stressing that they must continue to work together and evolve vibrant ways of containing insecurity bedeviling the country.
