AVM Assures Command Resolve to Tackle Criminality

AVM Precious Amadi, the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC) has assured that the command was combat ready to do more in tackling all manner of criminality head on as 2023 commenced.
Amadi stated this during the celebration of the Base Sociocultural Activity (BASA) on Sunday in Makurdi.

"Tactical Air Command is the fighting force of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and it provides air power all over the country. 

"We have been doing that from time immemorial and we received several commendation of our efforts. 

"This year we will continue to do much more. We are poised, we are strategizing and we are ready to combat criminality head on," Amadi said. 

The AOC urged the public to go about their normal businesses without any fear or intimidation, stressing that as the new year begun they would do much more than what they did in 2022. 

He further said that the event was important because it marked the end of the year 2023 and it also marked the commencement of a new year. 

He said that different ethnic groups in Nigeria participated in the event and it went further to prove the oneness of the country just like the armed forces was one. 

Also, Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue has assured NAF of a sustained cooperation of his government to ensure that the security agencies achieve their major objective of tackling criminality.

Ortom who was the Special Guest of Honour was represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Lt Col. Paul Hemba, commended NAF for her untiring efforts to peace keeping.

The governor further congratulated the AOC and officers for the success of the event.  

Highlights of the occasion included traditional dances and the following groups performed Ibo, Yoruba, Hausa/Fulani, Niger Delta, Igala, Tiv and Idoma.

The following groups emerged as winners. The Hausa/Fulani came first while Idoma ethnic group came second and the Tiv ethnic group came third .

Also, awards were presented to the best Air Personnel of colocated units and presentation of gift to Ortom.
