.....As IGP Reaffirms Commitment to Continually Partner NCCSALW for Achievement of Constitutional Mandate By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has supervised the handing over of 3,980 arms of different calibres to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW).  In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja Said that, the handed over arms comprise 265 automatic rifles; 146 pump action guns; 1,909 locally fabricated pistols; 1,500 locally made single barrel guns; 98 locally made double barrel guns; 46 General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs); 16 locally made rocket launchers; 2 locally made Anti-Aircraft (AA) guns; and 7 Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs). By Our Reporter  The National Director, SOS Children's Village, Mr Eghosa Erhumwunse, has advised Nigerians to take election as a civic duty and not warfare.  Erhumwunse gave the advice at a community sensitization forum on promoting peaceful and non violent 2023 general elections in Benue on Wednesday in Makurdi. Slain DPO: CMMRC Commiserates With NPF, Family

By Our Reporter The Conflict Management and Mitigation Regional Council (CMMRC) in Benue, has commiserated with the Nigerian Police and the family of the slain Divisional Police Officer (DPO), late SP Mamud Abubakar. This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the CMMRC Chairperson, Mrs Rachel Ityonzughul and Co-Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Baba and issued on Friday in Makurdi. Recalled that Abubakar was killed by bandits on Tuesday on Naka-Makurdi road while on a rescue mission.
