Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology (NACEST) has matriculated 381 students.

The 18th matriculation ceremony of the institution took place on Saturday in Makurdi.

In his address, the Rector, Maj. Gen. Umar Babangida, warned the matriculating students to shun cultism, emphasizing that the institution had zero tolerance for cultism, gangsterism and examination malpractice.

Babangida, encouraged the matriculating students to embrace self-discipline, self-care, and decency in dress.

"You should be faithful to your studies and comport yourselves properly within and outside the campus.

"Remember you are now the ambassadors of this great college and must act like ambassadors in all your interactions within and outside the campus as this will reflect passively on the image of the institution," Babangida said.

The rector pointed out that their matriculation was the turning point in their lives, adding that it marked their official enrolment as students of NACEST.

He disclosed that the institution was dedicated to grooming students who were morally and academically sound and disciplined so as to be able to contribute qualitatively to their families, communinities and the nation in general.

He said that it was the desire of the institution that at the end of the programme, the students would have very positive things to say to the people out there about the institution.

A cross section of the matriculating students, Miss Elizabeth Igbasue and Miss Confidence Udida, expressed happiness for gaining admission into the school and promised to be its good ambassadors.
