Water Resources Minister Visits Kano Gov, Emir of Kano, Calls For Support and Collaboration for improved Water Supply Irrigation Farming, Hydropower Dev.

Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Engineer Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev has called for more collaboration and Partnership from Kano State government to ensure access to clean and safe water, irrigation farming and achieve food security in the country.

Professor Utsev made the call on Tuesday when he led management of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation and Managing Director Hadejia Jama'are River Basin Development Authority Kano on a courtesy call on the Kano State Governor Engineer Abba Yusuf in Government House Kano.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by 
Personal Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Terhemen Oraduen in Abuja

According to him, such partnership would enable the federal government acquire more irrigation lands to boost agriculture  and feed the nation which is the priority  of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration as contained in his working document "the Renewed Hope Agenda".

He informed the Governor that his visit to the commercial hub of the North,Kano State was to carry out on the spot assessment of the projects, programmes and challenges confronting the Hadejia Jama'are River Basin Development Authority for federal government's intervention.

Professor Utsev who said through the River Basin in the area, the Federal Government has been able to construct dams and boreholes that were  being used for irrigation and  consumption, acknowledged the efforts of Kano State government in complementing   federal government in the water and sanitation sector and called for its sustainance.

Responding , Kano State Governor Engineer Abba Yusuf who was represented by his Deputy Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo said the appointment of Professor Utsev who is a water Engineer to  oversee the Water Resources and Sanitation Ministry has given high hopes and expectations saying Nigerians were looking up to him to revolutionarize water and sanitation sector.

According to the Governor, Kano State has constructed twenty one dams spread across the state to enhance irrigation farming and access to clean and safe water but were silted and expressed delight that the synergy and partnership with federal government would enable the State provide effective maintenance of the dams and assured the minister of the support of the State to enable the Tinubu administration deliver on its mandate .

Professor Utsev later  paid homage to the Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero to seek the support of Traditional Institution especially in the areas of improved  personal hygiene and sanitation .

Responding, the Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero who was represented by Madaki Kano Alhaji Yusuf Chigeri assured the Minister of the total Support of Kano Traditional Institution to the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration to better the lives of citizens.

Residents of FCT Pass Vote of Confidence on Wike

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja Coalition of FCT Indigenous Groups and FCT Resident Associations has passed a vote of confidence on the  FCT Minister, Bar. Nyesom Wike. The group also  urged him to continue his good works in the nation’s capital, saying the original inhabitants and the entire people of FCT were solidly behind him. The convener of the group, Adeyeye Olugbenga, made the call during a peaceful rally at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Abuja, on Thursday.  The group called on President Bola Tinubu to ignore calls to remove Wike as the FCT Minister. Hybrid Solar Panel Factory Soon To Take Off in Makurdi

From Aviashima Toom The Benue State Government has entered into partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital, to facilitate academic and clinical interchange between Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, in the areas of joint studies, training activities, and other educational exchanges of mutual interest. The government has also entered into partnership with Sinoki System Limited, for the establishment of a Hybrid Solar Panel Factory in Benue State.
