Police Arrests Akwa Ibom Lawyer Over Wife Battery

The police Command in Akwa Ibom State has arrested one Ekeere Sunday Ebong, a 55 years old Lawyer of plot 40 L line Ewet Housing estate over alleged wife battery. 

In statement signed Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Odiko MacDon, Akwa Ibom state, In a video that went viral, the Suspect assaulted his wife, dehumanised her, leading to various grievous injuries.

According to the statement, Barr Ekere Sunday Ebong, is a known habitual perpetrator of violent acts against his wife over the years.

"As an Agency saddled with the protection of lives and property and maintenance of law and order, we cannot allow Barrister Ebong to continue this flagrant abuse of human rights, hence, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, acting on the advice of the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy ordered the arrest of the Suspect to prevent murder and breakdown of law and order". The statement added

The CP has warned perpetrators of violent crimes in the State to desist forthwith while urging family members to endeavour to resolve disputes amicably rather than resorting to violent attacks.

Barr Sunday Ebong will have his day in court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Residents of FCT Pass Vote of Confidence on Wike

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja Coalition of FCT Indigenous Groups and FCT Resident Associations has passed a vote of confidence on the  FCT Minister, Bar. Nyesom Wike. The group also  urged him to continue his good works in the nation’s capital, saying the original inhabitants and the entire people of FCT were solidly behind him. The convener of the group, Adeyeye Olugbenga, made the call during a peaceful rally at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Abuja, on Thursday.  The group called on President Bola Tinubu to ignore calls to remove Wike as the FCT Minister. The group said ” Some people have alleged that the FCT under Barr Wike has become the epicentre of controversy. Hybrid Solar Panel Factory Soon To Take Off in Makurdi

From Aviashima Toom The Benue State Government has entered into partnership with the Shanghai Haitian Hospital, to facilitate academic and clinical interchange between Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, in the areas of joint studies, training activities, and other educational exchanges of mutual interest. The government has also entered into partnership with Sinoki System Limited, for the establishment of a Hybrid Solar Panel Factory in Benue State.
