AFCON: APC National Youth Leader Hails Super Eagles Players

The National Youth Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC Israel Dayo has heaped praise on the Super Eagles players despite losing the final game.

Isreal stated this yesterday when he organized a symbolic event to mark the final match between Nigeria and ivory coast at the APC National Secretariat in abuja.

According to him, the Nigerian team surrendered a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to Ivory Coast in the final of the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations.

"We hail their exploit, From Osinme, to lookman to nwabali, and the rest of them, they made us proud and Nigeria is proud of them. We are still going to receive them with joy they have all tried their best and we will encouraged them to continue to do their best.

He rest assured that there is always the next time.
You must have it in mind that the tragedy of life lies in not reaching your goal but the tragedy lies in not having a goal to reach.

Dayo said a lot of countries, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and others exited the competition, two, or three weeks ago.

“We have come this far, be rest assured that, we will come back stronger in the next edition. There is cause for celebration even though we lost. We are second best in Africa


“That’s what football is all about. We must understand that whichever way the pendulum swings, the trophy is still for Africa. It is the Africa Cup of Unity and it came to West Africa.

“There is every cause for us to celebrate and rejoice. There is every cause for us to unite. Look at our mistakes and correct them in the next edition”, he said.

He said the get together for yesterday was a symbolic representation of Nigeria's unity and promising thet they would sustain such. Adding that even beyond sporting gatherings of such they hope to bring talents across Nigeria and some will soon be unvail soon.

He however commeneded other youth leaders of other political parties just like the YPP, PRP, ADC who showed up in solidarity despite their political differences, saying they are part IPAC and they the youth have all united behind the players who are also young Nigerians.
