Police Confirm Release of 20 Medical students Abducted in Benue

SAHEL ReportersNews:The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the Release of 20 medical students and others recently abducted in Otukpo local government of Benue State 

In a statement signed on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja said the students and other victims were released from their captives on Friday 23rd August 2024 in Utunkon forest, Benue State, without any ransom paid. Contrary to some tweets and unconfirmed stories that some money was paid

Recall that 20 medical students were abducted in Otukpo, Benue State, while en route to the annual convention of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students in Enugu. 

According to the statement, no kobo was paid to release them, adding that they were actually rescued tactically and professionally by men of the Nigerian Police, locals.
