Gaza: 41,467 Palestinians, Women, Children, Elderly Martyred in West Bank - Envoy

SAHEL ReportersNews: The Palestine Ambassador in Nigeria, Abdullah Abu Shawesh, has disclosed that about 41,467 Palestinians have been Martyred and 91,921 injured in Gaza
The Ambassador disclosed this while briefing journalists on Thursday in Abuja, Nigeria.
He also said in the west Bank, 717 Palestinians were Martyred including 160 children, 10 women and 9 elderly and as well as 222 UNRWA staff member also been killed.
According to Shawesh, as of September 23rd, 10,600 Palestinians were detained in Israeli prison and concentration camps. This according to him includes 17 parliamentary members, 100 university students, 8,872 individuals subjects to arbitrary Administrative ditention.
He noted that 735 children, 410 women, are only from the west Bank. Saying that statistics have showed that thousands more were detained from Gaza over the past 11 months with disease like scabies fast spreading due to insanitary conditions and lack of medical care.
"Yesterday the Palestinians stopped the procedures for receiving a truck belonging to the Red Cross containing approximately 88 bodies that the occupation has kidnapped from the Gaza strip. This was due to lack of data or information indicating the knowledge of their owners and places where they were recovered.
"We call on the Red Cross to fulfill it's duties in accordance with the internationally applicable protocols regarding the receipt and delivery of bodies.
"We also call on the Red Cross and relevant international organizations to pressure Isreal to open its prison for visit and to ensure that Palestinian detainees are treated in accordance with the international law" He stated
Shawesh explained that, in July 2024 alone, 21 strikes on schools serving as shelter were recorded across the Gaza strip. As a result leaving over 270 people dead and dozen injured. "Among the casualties were women and children, elderly people and their civilians"
The Ambassador however noted that the war has robbed every boy and girl in Gaza of their childhood and education, saying that more than 625,000 students have been out of learning since the war began."they have all witnessed unimaginable atrocities no child should go through"
He thanked the government of Nigeria for their support of the Palestinian people's right to freedom and independence at the United Nations General Assembly.
