The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has presented the party's presidential nomination forms to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing the exercise as a demonstration of the party's confidence in their leadership ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Yilwatda said the event represented more than a constitutional requirement, describing it as a reaffirmation of the APC's commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and the administration's development programmes.

According to him, the President emerged through what he described as a transparent and democratic internal process, with widespread support from members of the party. He added that the APC's digitally verified membership register and grassroots structure positioned the party strongly for the 2027 elections.

The APC chairman highlighted several initiatives of the Tinubu administration, including the student loan scheme, infrastructure development, agricultural support programmes, and economic reforms. He said these initiatives had positively impacted millions of Nigerians and urged party members to communicate the administration's achievements to citizens using verifiable facts.

Yilwatda also called on APC governors, elected officials and party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the country, expressing confidence that the party would secure victory in the next general election.

During the event, the President's Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, formally submitted the completed Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presidential nomination documents on behalf of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.

Masari said the submission reflected the President's confidence in Nigeria's democratic process and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to advancing reforms in the areas of the economy, infrastructure, security, agriculture, education, healthcare and social investment.

He thanked APC leaders, governors, lawmakers and members for their continued support of the administration and urged party faithful to remain united as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, reaffirmed the support of APC governors for the President and Vice President.

Uzodimma described the presentation of the nomination documents as an important milestone in the party's preparations for the 2027 presidential election. He commended the APC leadership for conducting what he called a transparent nomination process and pledged the governors' continued commitment to the party and its programmes.

He said the Progressive Governors' Forum would continue to mobilise support for the APC across the country while promoting democratic governance and development in their respective states.

The ceremony was attended by members of the APC National Working Committee, governors, members of the National Assembly, party leaders, government officials and other stakeholders.
