Customs Service Announces Physical Screening for Successful Recruitment Candidates

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the schedule for the physical screening and documentation exercise for successful candidates shortlisted for recruitment into the Service.

The exercise will take place at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, Abuja.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, by the Deputy Comptroller of Customs and National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, the NCS directed all shortlisted candidates to appear at the screening venue with the original and photocopies of the required documents.

The documents include the National Identification Number (NIN), original Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, and educational certificates, including O'Level, ND, HND, Degree and other applicable qualifications.

Candidates are also required to present a Certificate of State of Origin, two recent passport photographs, a completed Guarantor's Form and an NYSC Certificate, where applicable.

The Service further directed candidates to appear for the exercise dressed in a white T-shirt, shorts and canvas shoes.
The NCS stressed that candidates must report only on the date allocated to their respective states and cadres, warning that attendance at the physical screening and documentation exercise is compulsory.

According to the Service, failure to appear as scheduled may lead to disqualification from the recruitment process.

It added that candidates who successfully complete the physical screening and documentation exercise will receive further instructions regarding subsequent stages of the recruitment process.

The Service, under the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, assured candidates and the general public that the recruitment exercise would remain transparent, fair and merit-based.

The NCS also urged candidates to rely solely on its official communication channels for authentic information concerning the screening and documentation exercise.

Flood Alert: Benue Basin Water Levels Near Flood, designates camps in 18 Local Government

Towards this end, the Benue State Government has designated camps in 18 Local Government Areas to shift would-be victims of flood. Data released by NIHSA yesterday showed a steady increase in water levels, approaching the flood threshold. “Water levels recorded at key gauge stations are alarming, with Wuro Boki at 6.36 metres and Jimeta Bridge at 5.04 metres. “Ibbi station stands at 8.2 metres, Makurdi at 9.4 metres, and Lokoja (Niger River) at 8. 68 metres,” the report said.
