The Nigerian Navy Marines, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army's 403 Amphibious Brigade, have neutralised 34 Boko Haram terrorists in separate offensive operations around the Lake Chad region of Borno State.
The operations, conducted under Operation HADIN KAI, were carried out on October 28 and 30, 2026, as part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and disrupt their activities in the North-East.
In a statement on Saturday, the Director of Naval Information, Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, said the October 28 operation initially recorded eight terrorists killed, but a subsequent Battle Damage Assessment revised the casualty figure to 28.
He disclosed that another offensive operation was conducted on October 30 against an identified Boko Haram enclave at Dumba in the Lake Chad area.
According to him, the operation followed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions which enabled the military to identify and monitor the terrorists before executing a precision strike.
Folorunsho said preliminary assessments indicated that six terrorists were neutralised during the operation, while several others reportedly sustained injuries.
He, however, noted that the casualty figures from the October 30 operation remained subject to further verification as operational assessments continued.
The naval spokesman explained that the recently established Nigerian Navy Marines had continued to strengthen joint military operations under Operation HADIN KAI, serving as a force multiplier in efforts to target terrorist hideouts and restrict their freedom of movement around the Lake Chad region.
He added that the operations were aimed at degrading the operational capabilities of Boko Haram terrorists and creating conditions for the restoration of peace and stability in the North-East.
The Nigerian Navy reaffirmed its commitment to sustained intelligence-driven operations in collaboration with other security agencies to strengthen national security and protect vulnerable communities.
