IGP Commiserates With Families of Late AIG Maku, CP Ayilara

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja  The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, is deeply saddened about the loss of two prominent Senior Police Officers, AIG Philip Sule Maku (rtd.), and CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara. In a statement signed on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja said, Retired AIG Philip Sule Maku, served as Commissioner of Police in Bauchi and Ebonyi States before retiring as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Force Headquarters, on 12th December, 2021.  According to him, Maku unfortunately passed into glory on 23rd August, 2024. CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara, served in various capacities including as DCP State Criminal Investigations Department, Lagos State, before his posting as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Akwa Ibom State. Peter Afunanya Ph.D, Director PR and Strategic Communications, announced this in a statement on Monday in Abuja said Mr Ajayi is a thoroughbred and versatile Intelligence Officer. .....As more intricate Investigations Commence  From Aviashima Toom, Abuja  Officials from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has  apprehended one Mr. Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, also known as PIDOM, on allegations of committing serious offenses that undermine the integrity of government operations.  In a statement signed on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja said that, the arrest took place on August 5, 2024, in his hotel room in  Rivers State. According to the statement, there are several allegations levelled against the suspect, including unlawful possession, leakages of classified documents, cyber related offences, and others. "We will do due diligence in carrying out thorough investigation into the cases". He said the force will leave no stone unturned to continually enforce the law and bequeath to Nigerians a more secure nation. 

Police Confirm Release of 20 Medical students Abducted in Benue

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja  SAHEL ReportersNews: The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the Release of 20 medical students and others recently abducted in Otukpo local government of Benue State  In a statement signed on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja said the students and other victims were released from their captives on Friday 23rd August 2024 in Utunkon forest, Benue State, without any ransom paid. Contrary to some tweets and unconfirmed stories that some money was paid Recall that 20 medical students were abducted in Otukpo, Benue State, while en route to the annual convention of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students in Enugu.  According to the statement, no kobo was paid to release them, adding that they were actually rescued tactically and professionally by men of the Nigerian Police, locals.
