SUBEB TRANSLATES MATHS CONTENT INTO THREE MAJOR LANGUAGE IN BENUE.

The State universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB has translated Mathematical content into the three major languages in Benue state.

Exercutive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Philip Tachin revealed this today at a Ten Days workshop organized by UBEC in collaboration with SUBEB for Classroom Teachers on Professional Development Programme on Strengthening Mathematics and Science Education in primary and elementary class said the book which has both Tiv, Idoma and Igede translation is waiting Governnent funding.

Tachin said the board has already adopted measures in ensuring that Mathematics and Science Education in these languages gets to the pupils.

He encourage participants at the workshop to be committed and have change of attitude so as to get the required training to impact in the children.

Also, Tachin lamented the quality of teachers particularly the Science and Mathematical education which according to necesitated the workshop.

He however appealed to the Federal Government to always open more doors and as well place Benue on a First Line charge in order to access funds for optimum performance particularly at elementary level

On her part, representative of UBEC? Mrs. N. Cynthia thanked participants for the committement during the training, urging them to be focu as it will afford them the oportunity to be more innovative so as to give back to the children. She commended Dr. Tachin for localizing mathematical content in Benue state.

Also reacting, Representative of the NTI, Mr.Yahaya Sani hailed both efforts of the state and federal government for organizing the training which he said would go a long way of strengthening mathematical and science education in state and beyond.
