2023: Dr. Ubwa Continues Consultation with Zone 'A' Cacus Members in Benue.........as Party C'man Warns against Politics of Bitterness, acrimony

A Governorship Aspirants  under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Benue State, Dr. Paul Orkuma Ubwa has stated that he has the political and administrative pedigree to take the state to a higher height at the expiry of Governor Samuel Ortom’s, tenure in 2023.

Dr. Ubwa, a successful businessman made his position known Thursday 10th June, 2021 during a consultative meeting with Zone 'A' PDP Cacus members in Makurdi, the state capital 

Ubwa, informed the zone A PDP cacus members that he did not want to be governor to improve his fortunes but to contribute his quota to the development of the State.

The aspirant further said that the State was blessed with adorable land, stressing that he would encourage Benue people to embrace mechanize agriculture.

According to him, He has seen how agriculture and other businesses are practice in other countries, if given the opportunity to Govern the state, he will turn the state into  agriculture hub, while promising that education will be return to it's past Glory during his administration.

On security, the governorship hopeful explained that he will leverage on the anti-open grazing law already esterblished by Gov. Samuel Ortom. He informed zone A caucus that, he was trained properly in crises management in the US, Germany, Philippines and Canada and would employ his experience in handling security issues.

"I will encourage Benue people to also venture into agriculrure processing and marketing, they will also stop selling their yields as raw materials but process them and sell as finish products thereby enhancing their income" he said. He emphasized that, jobs will be created for all when the state embarks on cultivation, processing and marketing of agricultural products in Benue.

In her remarks, the Member of Board of Trustee of PDP, Mrs Margaret Icheen, urged members of the party not to be perturbed about defections of party members stressing that the party would continue to wax stronger.

She urged the governorship aspirant to remain focus in his quest to take over affairs of the state come 2023.

In their separate remarks, Rev. Atim Daa, Chief Ichaver Kper and Alhaji Ibrahim Songo Anor who spoke on behalf of Kwande, Sankara and Jerchira respectively said that Ubwa had taken a right step in the right direction for consulting them on desire to contest the number one seat come 2023, they assure Dr. Ubwa of their support and pray God to grant his heart desires. Particularly the Jerchira spokes person (Anor) acknowledged the interest of Jerchira people in Dr. Paul Ubwa citing the martenal connection between him and Kunav.

In his clossing remarks, the Zonal Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Zone 'A', Mr Azua Ashongo, advised governorship aspirants in the state to base their consultations on who they are and what they would do for the State against insulting their fellow
aspirants.

The chairman stressed that any aspirant that would embark on consultations of insults and calumny on their fellow aspirants  would be disqualified outrightly.

"PDP will not sell form to any aspirant that will be involved in insulting people and causing disaffection among members.

"We do not want anything that will divide the party, but rather want things that will cement the cordial relationship among the aspirants as well as members.

Sughnem Idyu, Former Ambassador to Mexico Prof. Iorwuese Hagher, former Minister of state foreign affairs Prof. Nicholas Ada, a great entrepreneur Peter Chieshe, north central zonal Secretary of PDP Maurice Tsav, state House of assembly members Hon. Abanyi Sugh, Thomas Mlanga & ords, PSAs Yua Agega & ords, special advisers Bem Dzoho & ords, former members of House of representative Moses Gbande, Mzenda Iho & ords, present and past local government chairmen Asawa Joseph, Atera, Mrs. Kpindi, Alberto Ankwa & ords, past and present party exco members at local state and national amongst many other personalities and category of people.
