2023 Governorship: Tilley-Gyado Makes Intention known To Kinsmen



......Says he is better equipped to deliver good governance and development to benue people

Engr. Terhemen Tilley-Gyado of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has informed his kinsmen of his intention to contest the 2023 Benue Governorship election.

Engr. Tilley-Gyado, who made this known to his kinsmen at his country home, Mbaakune, Vandeikya Local Government Area, called on them to bless and support his aspiration for the good of the State.
Engr. Terhemen Tilley-Gyado, a UK trained Engineer and native of Vandeikya Local Government, noted that he is in a prime position to wrest power from the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue state. He further stated that beyond the capacity to win the election, he is equipped to deliver good governance and development to the State in the key areas of job creation, poverty reduction, security, roads, education, health, power, and agriculture.
Engr Tilley-Gyado noted that a good road network is a basic need of the rural community  to enable transportation of farm produce to the market for trade, to make an income and cater to household needs; he said "good roads will empower and add value to our rural dwellers by enhancing transportation of goods and services". He added

He also assured his people to tackle the growing insecurity in the state, stating that “there are modern methods and new technologies to curb the lingering security challenges faced by the state”. 
The Governor-to-be further noted that rural electrification will be among his top priorities as it will open doors for local industry, job creation and poverty alleviation. He concluded that his administration will do more in the area of access to basic services such as education and primary healthcare.

The clan came out in scores to receive their son in what was a colourful occasion. The Head of Clan, Targba Ayua, who spoke with passion, welcomed Engr. Terhemen Tilley-Gyado on behalf of the Mbaakune clan. 

He stated that this would be the first time Mbaakune would have a horse in gubernatorial race, and called on all elders to bless Engr. Terhemen Tilley-Gyado to equip him for success in the elections. 

He recalled the years of service and sacrificate of Engr. Terhemen’s grandfather, Chief Jerome Tilley-Gyado, and his contributions to the development of Mbaakune Community in Benue, and Nigeria at large. 

He expressed pleasure that Engr. Terhemen had taken in these footsteps by always showing concern for the progress of his people and extending a hand of fellowship and support.

Other elders, women leaders, youth leaders and associations echoed the sentiments of the Head of Clan. They called for unity within the clan, and for prayers to be offered for their son.
