Troops Neutralize 191 Terrorist, 184 Arrested Accross Threather Operations- DHQ

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, says in the last one week, the military troops in thr ongoing operations across the country have neutralised 191 terrorists and arrested 184 with 22 perpetrators of oil theft.

 The troops also rescued 91 kidnapped hostages while a total of 104 Boko Haram terrorists and their families surrendered to troops across threaters of operation.

Briefing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja on the ongoing military operations and other security agencies, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba further explained that troops denied oil theft if an estimate sum of three hundred and eighty eight million, four hundred and sixty nine thousand five hundred and fifty naira only.

Additionally, he said, troops recovered 209 assorted weapons and 2,894 assorted ammunition among other items.

According to him, military mission against terrorists, insurgents and other criminal activities in the country but be seen as a sole responsibility of the military alone but called for public support to flush the menance in the country. 

"This underscores the need to our counter terrorism and counter contingency war to remain a reflection of a whole of a society's comitment

"The parpetrators of the insecurity are not ghost , they have families, relations and are from villages and communities in the country

"Through a whole of society approach, we will sufforcate any hope that these group have of victory through senseless killing and dastadly acts" he said.

Major general Edwaerd while assuring that the armed forces of nigeria remain unperturbed by the evil machinations of these extrimist geoup, he also said that all recovered items , arrested suspected susoects and rescued hostages were already handed over to the relevant authority
