Corps Member Incident in Kaura Nomada Grossly Misrepresented - NPF

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Nigeria Police Force has described alleged incident involving a Corps member in Kaura Nomada, Zamfara State as Misrepresented and misinformation calculated on social media. The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a press release on Saturday in Abuja said that, the incident in question occurred in 2015 and has been grossly misrepresented.  According to the statement, a female student had written something the Corps member deemed insulting during a test, and in response, the corps member decided to punish her by asking the student to crawl on her knees, which caused her some injuries.  "This punishment did not sit well with the student's family, prompting them to escalate the matter to the Police. The Area Commander in charge of the area at the time exercised his discretion and detained the corps member temporarily.  "The Commissioner of Police intervened thereafter and directed the corps member's release.

From Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Nigeria Police Force has express concerned over the recent reprehensible and grievous assault on a police officer in Lagos State on Saturday 22nd June, 2024 at Chevron Roundabout, Lekki, Lagos State.  In a statement siged on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP, Olamutiwa Adejobi in Abuja said that, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, expressed dismay over the incident.  According to the statement, the assailant, 47-year-old Oluwaseun Jacobs, a cobbler based in Ajah, is apprehended and already been arraigned in court on a three-count charge including assault occasioning bodily harm, and conduct likely to cause breech of peace. The statement also said the case has been adjourned to July 8, 2024 for hearing, while the suspect is currently remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending further legal proceedings. IGP Presents N2.5bn Cheques to deceased officers’ families
