Dr. Nura Manu Zoro Files Nomination Forms, Unveils Agenda for Bauchi 2027 Governorship Race

Dr. Nura Manu Zoro, a leading aspirant in the 2027 Bauchi State governorship race, has formally submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, outlining a development-focused agenda centered on education, agriculture, and security.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja after filing the documents, the former gubernatorial aide said Bauchi State needs purposeful leadership and practical governance rather than political drama.
“Bauchi is not a state for noise-making; it is a ground where the unexpected happens,” he said. “We have been working on the ground to help people. It is about delivery, not the volume of the campaign.”
Dr. Manu, who served in the state government’s team in 2019, stated that his experience in governance and understanding of the state’s political structure place him in a strong position to lead Bauchi effectively if elected.
According to him, his administration would focus on a three-point agenda aimed at improving the socio-economic condition of the state.
The first priority, he said, is strengthening basic education and addressing the growing number of out-of-school children in Bauchi, which remains one of the states with the highest out-of-school population in the country.
“Our children must return to school. The current situation is unacceptable, and we must take decisive steps to reverse the trend,” he said.
Dr. Manu also pledged to commercialize agriculture by supporting farmers to move beyond subsistence farming, a strategy he said would increase the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and reduce poverty.
“This shift is designed to increase the state’s IGR and drastically reduce poverty,” he added.
On security, the governorship hopeful promised closer collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies to strengthen peace and stability across the state.
Despite what observers describe as a crowded contest ahead of the 2027 election, Dr. Manu expressed confidence in his grassroots support and mobilization efforts, insisting that his campaign remains focused on community engagement and service delivery.
He urged his supporters to remain disciplined and committed throughout the electioneering process.
“Let us just go and do the right thing. Work hard and get the elections done. We will deliver,” he said.
