House of Reps: Ghali Unveils Bauchi Ambition, Seeks Broad-Based Participation
By Aviashima Toom
Speaking to journalists during his declaration, Ghali said his ambition is driven by a desire to address what he described as the persistent marginalization of young people in governance and decision-making processes.
He noted that Bauchi Federal Constituency, which comprises two local government areas, deserves purposeful representation that prioritises development and encourages broad-based participation.
“This is not the first time I have shown interest, but by the grace of Allah, this will be the last, because I am determined to win and serve my people,” he said.
Ghali criticised the performance of the incumbent lawmaker, alleging inadequate efforts to improve the welfare and living conditions of constituents.
He maintained that his candidacy presents a fresh opportunity to reposition the constituency for growth and inclusive development.
The aspirant also acknowledged the influence of his political mentor, whom he endorsed for a governorship position, describing him as a visionary leader who shares a commitment to development.
Calling for massive youth support, Ghali stressed that the active involvement of young people would be decisive in achieving electoral victory and driving meaningful change.
He further pledged to promote youth participation in politics and governance, while creating opportunities for emerging leaders, particularly women, to thrive.
“I am committed to advancing the interests of youths, women, and students, and ensuring they are not only heard but actively involved in shaping policies that affect their future,” he said.
Ghali’s declaration reflects growing momentum in youth-driven political engagement ahead of the next electoral cycle, as a new generation of aspirants seeks to challenge entrenched political structures and redefine leadership at the grassroots.
