Dr. Gupar made the declaration shortly after submitting her nomination form, saying her ambition is aimed at reshaping the political narrative and encouraging more women to actively participate in leadership and governance.
According to her, societal barriers and fear have continued to discourage many women from venturing into politics, stressing that her candidacy represents a new direction focused on service and value addition.
“We are here to change the narrative. We are not in competition with men, nor are we here to condemn them; we are here to add value,” she said.
The aspirant, who described herself as a grassroots “developer,” outlined her priorities to include improved healthcare delivery, agricultural support, youth engagement, and community development initiatives.
She also emphasized the importance of housing and education, pledging to champion policies that will guarantee access to quality education and improved living conditions for residents of the constituency.
“Every child in my constituency must have access to education, and no family should go to bed hungry,” she stated, adding that empowerment programmes would form a key part of her legislative agenda.
Dr. Gupar expressed confidence in securing victory at the party primaries, citing her longstanding relationship and engagement with people across the PKK Federal Constituency.
“I am very confident. I have been with my people, and I understand their needs,” she said.
She further called for a transparent and credible primary election process, urging party stakeholders to provide a level playing field for all aspirants in line with democratic principles.
