VSF 'll soon commence payment of voluntary teachers in IDP camps -- Akerele-Ogunsiji

By Our Reporter  Victims Support Fund (VSF) will commence payment of stipends to  people who volunteered in teaching in schools situated at Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the states where it was intervening. The Chairperson, Emergency Support Programme of VSF, Mrs Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, disclosed this on Sunday in Igumale, the headquarters of Ado Local Government Area (LGA), Benue while distributing relief materials to the IDPs. Akerele-Ogunsiji stated that the motive was to enable the voluntary teachers to give in their best in their work, stressing that by so doing they would be impacting quality knowledge into the children. She emphasized that it was the utmost desire of VSF that all children of school age were in school including those in various IDP camps. By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  Normalcy was restore after a minor fire outbreak at the defense headquarters, (DHQ) in Abuja on Monday. In a statement signed by the Director Defence Information, Major General Jimmy Akpor, in Abuja explained that the cause of the fire outbreak was unknown at the moment however stated that full investigation had commenced immediately by Military High Command. He further explained that the situation has been brought under control with the combined efforts of the military and Federal Fire Service personnel and resources while all personnel and civilian staff were also evacuated without injury or loss of life. According to the DDI, ” We thank the Federal Fire Service and the entire public for the continued support and goodwill to the Armed Forces of Nigeria”.

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  Military says its Troops of Operation FOREST SANITY on 3 December 2022 responded to bandits attack at MAIGAMJI village, Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State. This was contained in statement signed on Monday by the Director, Defence Media Operation DMO, Major-General Musa Danmadami, noted that, during the fire fight, troops engaged the terrorist forcing them to scamper with gun shoot injuries.  According to the statement, Troops also exploited the general area and recovered a bag containing seven (7) magazines loaded with 204 rounds of 7.62mm special, one (1)Techno mobile phone, one (1) motorcycle amongst other items.
