Bank Official Implicated, As DSS Intercept Syndicates Selling New Naira Notes

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja  The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has intercepted some members of organised syndicates involved in the sale of the new redesigned naira notes. In a statement signed by the Public Relation Officer Dr. Peter Afunanya in Abuja noted that in the course of its operations, it was also established that some Commercial Bank officials are aiding the economic malfeasance.   According to the statement, the Service warned the currency racketeers to desist from the ignoble act. "Appropriate regulatory authorities are, in this same vein, urged to step up monitoring and supervisory activities to expeditiously address the emerging trends". It said. Afunanya said that, the Service has ordered its Commands and Formations to further ensure that all persons and groups engaged in the illegal sale of the notes are identified. DSS Allays Fears, Assures INEC Of Support To Conduct Free, Fair Election

By Aviashima Toom, Abuja The Department of State Services (DSS) said, it has “reviewed the security situation” and assured the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of its support to ensure a free and fair election. This was contained in a statement made available to Newsmen by the Spokesperson of the Service, Dr Peter Afunanya, on Monday, at the end of a four day “Strategic Workshop for its State Directors of Security and Heads of Institutions which took place between 18th and 21st January 2023, at the DSS National Headquarters, Abuja. Ensure owners of structures are compensated before you carryout demolition, Adodo tells Chinese company

Our Reporter  The General Manager, Alhaji Garba Baba Conglomerate, Mr Friday Adodo, called on the China Harbour Company to ensure that people were adequately compensated before their structures would be demolished to avoid altercations . Adodo stated this on Sunday in an interview with newsmen in Makurdi. The China Harbour Company is the company that is dualizing the Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia-Makurdi-Enugu road. The general manager lamented that part of the structure of the house of his boss was pulled down on Saturday without adequate compensation. "They should ensure that compensation is paid before demolition. AVM Assures Command Resolve to Tackle Criminality
